Years after Bill Gates announced a Microsoft project for ‘true’ virtual gaming whilst being interviewed alongside the late Steve Jobs, Microsoft released the Kinect system to compete with Nintendo’s Wii. And it’s fantastic.
The new Microsoft Kinect is a camera device which sits in front of your television set and connects to your Microsoft Xbox device. The Kinect uses clever technology to not only listen to your voice, but also track what you’re doing in your living room. With its number of camera, the Kinect device can follow the movement of your whole body, allowing you to control games in a brand new way.
You can control the Xbox using your voice, and then play your games by using your hands as controllers. It’s incredibly simple and really fun, and provides a totally different experience in gaming. Remember though, this is more tiring than traditional gaming, though you can choose to use the traditional controller.
