Amazon may not spring to mind when you think of computers or tablets, but it soon might be. Amazon has branched outside of online shopping in recent years with the Amazon Kindle. The rumour has not been confirmed by either company yet, however, the journalist behind the rumour, Assaf Gilad, has been right about this kind of thing before.
According to Assaf Gilad, Amazon is hoping that it can acquite the high-end processor division of Texas Instruments so that it can have more control over the chips used in its Kindle Fire tablets. This could massively improve what the Kindle can do, and could even see Amazon become one of the big players in the new and expanding mobile computer market.
